DESCRIPTION   OUR WINES   VISITING US

Dedicated to crafting small quantities of rare wines from uncommon varieties and character rich vineyards, Imagery Estate Winery was born of a thirst for experimentation and willingness to take risks.

White Wines:

WHITE BURGUNDY: A blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Menuier, this wine has the body and weight of a Chardonnay with a refreshing light fruitness.

WOW OUI (Sauvignon Blanc): Believed to be one of the parents of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc in native to the Bordeaux region. In Wow Oui, Sauvignon Blanc and just a kiss of Muscat combine to make a bright, fresh wine.

VIOGNIER: A warm weather vine, Viognier historically had major plantings in the Condrieu and Languedoc regions and now in prestigious appellations in California.

Red Wines:

BARBERA: A dynamic and versatile grape variety, Barbera is referred to as the "people's wine" in its’ native Piedmont region. It is known, in particular, for its deep ruby color, full body and approachable tannins.

CABERNET FRANC: One of the classic Bordeaux varietals, Cabernet Franc is most often used as a blending grape to add interest and to compliment Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot based wines.

CINSAULT (pronounced "san-so") is a red wine grape, whose heat tolerance and productivity make it important in Languedoc-Roussillon, Algeria and Morocco. It is often blended with grapes such as Grenache and Carignane to add softness.

GRENACHE: Grenache may have originated in Spain, probably in Aragon or Catalonia, but has since spread over the Pyrenees into southern France and the rest of the Mediterranean.

LAGREIN: A little known red wine varietal native to northwestern Italy's Trentino region. Relatively rare, even in Italy, in California it is almost non-existent: fewer than 100 producing acres are currently planted.

MALBEC: Another one of the classic red Bordeaux grapes, Malbec is an early ripener that yields soft wines of low acidity, moderate tannins, good color and fruit flavors reminiscent of blueberries.

MOUVÈDRE: The name Mourvèdre (sometimes called Mataro) is believed to have come from the towns of Mataró in Cataluña and Murviedro near Valencia.

SANGIOVESE: An ancient varietal indigenous to the Tuscany region, Sangiovese is Italy's most planted grape variety and the base for Chianti, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and most of the Super Tuscans.

TEMPRANILLO: A native of Spain and a major red wine grape in the Ribera del Duero and the Rioja Alta, Tempranillo is sparsely planted and rarely produced as a single varietal.
