Located in Bennett Valley Matanzas Creek stands at a crossroads between sophistication and simplicity. Named an American Viticultural Area in 2003, the vineyards of Bennett Valley are a source of constant discovery in Sonoma County.
Our wines and our winery effortlessly combine the best of both rustic country charm and refined quality. Our vineyards live in harmony with their surroundings with only a portion of the land planted to vine. The rest is given over to an eclectic blend of native grasses, delicate olive trees, exotic perennials and our famous lavender fields.
The same attention to detail that sets Matanzas Creek wines apart from the competition has also been lovingly applied to the land itself – most notably in the 1991 planting of the spectacular lavender gardens that have since become the winery’s trademark and a draw for visitors the world over. As each lavender stem reaches full bloom, it is hand-cut for use in culinary, bath, body and home products. The whole of every plant is utilized, from the stalks, which produce grilling sticks to infuse lavender flavors into items such as poultry, lamb and vegetables, to the flowers and seeds, which are handcrafted on our estate into unique bath and spa products. Available only in the Matanzas Creek Tasting Room, on our website and in a few select California spa and boutique locations.
We invite you to visit our tasting room, tour our lavender gardens or become a Matanzas Creek Wine Club Member to experience what makes Matanzas Creek such a special destination.
