WINES Gloria Ferrer Tête de Cuvée Sparkling Wines These wines are an expression of what our best fruit has to offer from our vineyards and the culmination of our winemaking experience with the art of blending. Enjoy our méthode champenoise Vintage Carneros Cuvée, Vintage Royal Cuvée and NV Brut Rosé. Gloria Ferrer Sparkling Wines Vineyard Manager Mike Crumly and Winemaker Bob Iantosca adhere to the three winemaking tenets the Ferrers brought with them from Europe: hand-harvest the grapes, deliver them to the winery in small lots and press them gently. These old-world practices remain the foundation for the creation of Gloria Ferrer's méthode champenoise NV Brut, Blanc de Noirs NV , Vintage Blanc de Blancs as well as the limited production of still wines produced at the winery today. Gloria Ferrer Still Wines The winery began producing estate-grown still wines in 1991, initially focusing on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. In the late-1990s the winery added small blocks of Merlot and Syrah to its varietal plantings (first released in the early 2000’s). These limited production still wines are created with “a gentle hand,” aged in a majority of French oak barrels and bottled with minimal fining and filtration. Gloria Ferrer Reserve & Vineyard Designate Wines Since 1987, experimentation with over 40 clones and selections on our 335-acre estate vineyard has allowed us to achieve a broad diversity in the vineyard. Between the Circle Bar Ranch and Home Ranch vineyards are found no less than nine distinct soil types situated at elevations of 50 to 325 feet. This wealth of natural materials and vineyard aspects provides us with unprecedented blending opportunities for each of our wines. Enjoy our Jose S. Ferrer Pinot Noir, and our Gravel Knob Pinot Noir. |
