David S. Stare established Dry Creek Vineyard in 1972. As the first new winery built in Dry Creek Valley since the days of Prohibition, our family owned winery has taken a pioneering role in revitalizing our home region. Among the highlights, we have been credited with launching a whole new era of winemaking in Sonoma County, including the introduction of Fumé Blanc and the renaissance of Zinfandel in the Dry Creek Valley. These achievements are the result of Dave’s absolute dedication to the winery, which remains the center of his family’s life.
Dry Creek Vineyard is built on family pride and decades of hard work and dedication. Inspired by Dave’s early efforts, the second generation is determined to build on the winery’s early success. Today, our family winery continues under the leadership of Kim and Don Wallace. Together, they share a vision and commitment to the integrity and quality of Dry Creek Vineyard.
